What is the Heat Metering?
Heat metering allows each tenant that living in a building blocks with a centralized boiler to calculate and manage the consumption of the heating system and water of their homes. This means that each building blocks can use (thanks to tools such as thermostatic valves, heat distributors and heat meters) the heating as it wants, without time or temperature limits. Thanks to the heat metering, in fact, each tenant autonomously manages the temperature of its apartment, as everyone will only pay for the amount of heat actually consumed.
Are heat metering and thermo-regulation obligatory?
Yes, Legislative Decree 102/2014 (later supplemented by Legislative Decree 141/2016) imposes heat accounting on all building blocks and buildings with central heating*.The tenants that have not yet been put in order risk a sanction ranging from 500,00 to 2500,00 euros for both the building blocks and the tenants.
*Excluded from the regulation are building blocks and real estate with independent heating systems and cases in which it is not possible to make the adjustment due to the presence of major technical problems.
